For those of you who do not know me, I’m Debbie, and no I’m not Jenny’s Maid of Honor, nor Mic’s Best Man, but I have been a longtime good friend to both Jenny and Mic.
I have known Jenny and Mic for a very long time, and yet I don’t even remember anymore when I stopped looking at them as separate entities. It feels like they have always been together. When I look back, the way I saw it was that the Mic and Jenny couple-dom started (slight pause) long before it actually started. About almost 14 years ago, Mic and Jenny, both single, went to Taiwan to join the church fulltime training. There were more than a hundred of them in their batch, and they were to be assigned to different propagation teams and gospel-preaching subteams. When they were assigned to be in the same team and same subteam, I knew it was a done deal. It was just a matter of time before they realized that they were meant to be together.
And so, when Mic told me that they were officially together, my reaction was (slight pause) ‘FINALLY!’ (utang na loob!)
And through the years… and years… and more years of traveling, you have arrived at your destination here today.
FINALLY! We are all here for this much-awaited wedding. I am very glad to be here to celebrate it with both of you, with each other.
To Mic, for not running away, and to Jenny, for not running the other way. May you continue to travel, grow old and gray and shrivelly together. Congratulations to you both.
